Rich in history and breathtaking natural landscapes, the Pontine – or Ponziane – Islands are the uncontaminated pearl of the Tyrrhenian Sea: 6 islands off the coasts of the Gulf of Gaeta that, with the appeal of their beauty, every year fascinate thousands of tourists from all over the world. For those who love the sea, choosing to spend the holidays on a sailboat in the Pontine Islands means embracing the uncompromising beauty of those islands, the transparent sea that reveals the seabed, the serene calm of the semi-deserted beaches, the warmth of the people who live there.

PONZA
Ponza, the largest by extension, is the queen of the Pontine Islands, a lively port loved by Italian and international tourists. The colorful center full of trendy boutiques and the scent of the Mediterranean scrub make Ponza a special refuge where you can relax during the day and enjoy the nightlife, perhaps in one of the many bars with a panoramic view of the harbor, from which you can admire the enchanting sunset over the sea.
VENTOTENE
More barren and adorned with beaches of volcanic origin, Ventotene is the second largest island but certainly not inferior to the first in terms of beauty. The Greeks called it “Pandoteira”, or “dispenser of everything”. A relaxed, more spartan atmosphere reigns here, made up of slow rhythms, landscapes of red and dark land and clear turquoise waters, whose rocky bottoms are a paradise for divers and snorkelers.
PALMAROLA
Then there is Palmarola, beautiful and wild, a small, almost uninhabited island with a single landing area in Cala San Silverio, where the unforgettable “O Francese” restaurant-guest house is located. It is famous for the caves carved into the rock, which are also the only homes on the island, the dwarf palms unique in Europe that grow wild here, and the Rock of San Silverio, dedicated to the patron saint of the island.
GAVI, ZANNONE, SANTO STEFANO
Finally, Gavi, Zannone and Santo Stefano are the smallest islands, all uninhabited and dominated by wild nature. Each one has its own particular attractions: Gavi is the ideal destination for lovers of Mediterranean flora and fauna and for divers; Zannone, which is part of the Circeo National Park, hosts fascinating seabeds, the remains of a Cistercian monastery and very rare species of birds; Santo Stefano, the smallest of all the Pontine Islands, houses the former Bourbon prison complex built in 1795 which attracts many tourists every year.
